The Antonelli Family

The Antonelli Family is the foremost known (and feared) vampire gang in Chicago. Having first planted their roots in the city in the 1840s as a small but ambitious sect of vampire extremists, they have since grown considerably in size and notereity, known now as one of the most ruthless and unforgiving gangs in the northeast. While originally their intent was solely to take a firm hold of Chicago, their interest in dominance has waned slightly in favor of rum running and, as a recent development, a race to arms against their new but powerful rivals, The Red Wolves. While not the only vampire gang in the city, it is considered by far to be the greatest threat to the inhabitants of the city, both human and werewolf alike.

Meaning The meaning of The Antonelli Family is fairly straight forward. It was originally brought together by a family of Italian vampire immigrants known as the Antonellis, which has remained its namesake since its creation.

Leadership and Structure The Antonelli Family is led by the Hand- currently Carmine Antonelli, who has recently replaced Dante Antonelli, his cousin.

The name "Antonelli" is generally (but not always) adopted as the new surname of fresh recruits into the gang, their original surname becoming their alias and middle name more often than not. Because vampires lack the ability to reproduce sexually, spreading the virus is the only true means of reproduction, and thus the only way to expand the family. As they are being inducted as members of the family, The Antonelli Family is very careful and precise when it comes to recruiting, having a long recruitment process that can take several weeks to complete.
